BC 211 Your Virtual Navigator Service

Sometimes the biggest barrier to getting help is knowing where to look. Every hour of every day, people need help finding services – from finding a homeless shelter, to securing daycare for a child, to home care support for an aging parent.

Learn about a new phone, text and website funded by United Way Greater Victoria that is now available across Vancouver Island: bc211.  Launched in September, the free, confidential telephone, text and online referral service connects people to over 13,000 community, social and government listings.

Patricia Jelinkski, CEO, United Way Greater Victoria, will talk about the different uses of bc211 including providing a real-time snapshot of current issues. Find out the top reasons that people in Victoria and on the Island are contacting bc211.

At United Way, we believe that every person should have access to the same opportunities to build a better life for themselves – no matter their income, their gender, their nationality, or ultimately where they live. That’s why United Way believes so strongly in the model of 211.
