Breaking the silence about Dementia

After her husband's diagnosis in 2015, Elly dedicated herself to understanding dementia and supporting others on this challenging journey.
Upon relocating to Lake Chapala, Elly noticed a lack of resources and support for those grappling with dementia. Fueled by her studies at the Wicking University of Tasmania in "Understanding Dementia" and "Preventing Dementia," Elly is on a mission to raise awareness, create supportive communities, and remove the stigma about.
Elly's training empowers her to facilitate discussion groups for individuals with early-onset dementia and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MID) — giving them a voice and working tirelessly to dismantle the stigma surrounding the disease.
Elly is a Rotary Past District Governor and a Club Champion for ADRAG - A Rotary Action Group for Alzheimer and Dementia – which was initiated after Rotary agreed, that Mental Health must be included in “Disease Prevention and Treatment” under of the 7 areas of focus .
