Rotary Youth Protection.

Kim Barnard is a Graphic Designer and Gingerbread Artisan, residing in Shawnigan Lake in the Cowichan Valley, and recently celebrated her 30th Wedding Anniversary with a West Coast road trip (photo). Kim got involved in Rotary through Youth Exchange - first as an Outbound Parent and then twice as a Host Parent - before taking the plunge to become a South Cowichan Rotary Club Member in November 2017. Since then, she has been active with ClubRunner Web Design, Social Media, Community Clean Ups and Waste Reduction, and most recently as Director of Youth and Vocational Services for her club. Kim is now a Paul Harris Fellow and has become the first Island D5020 Area Trainer for this year. In addition to today’s Youth Protection Awareness training, she has presented at DTA about Social Media, Public Speaking, and her club’s “People of Action” Shawnigan Clean Up service project. Kim also has Travel stories and has been a guest of Rotary clubs across Australia and in Rome, Italy! In keeping with this adventurous spirit, her home club is soon to be the Rotary Club of Duncan.
