Kristi Philpott – RCVH’s Liberia Beekeeper Project
May 20 - UN called for global action on increasing bees to support pollination to ensure our food supply.
Working with Universal Outreach, our club funded the project. Year 1 had many successes and some challenges and lessons learned. In year 2 we expanded to 6 more communities and provided waterproofing and continuous training. We now have 162 beekeepers and honey is being harvested. 95 beekeepers are women and we have the first female trainer in the country. This is making a significant difference in the income and lives of the beekeepers. See the full presentation.
